I am a graduate of the University of Zielona Góra in Poland, where I completed two master's degree in the following fields: Animation of Culture and Visual Arts (at that time: Artistic Education in the Fine Arts Sector). I completed my artistic diploma (2016) in the Drawing and Interdisciplinary Studio (ISW UZ) under the direction of prof. Radosław Czarkowski. Then I started my doctorate studies at the Faculty of Humanities in the field of History. After I gave up my third-level studies after the first year, I appreciate the experience I gained there. First of all, I had the opportunity to teach Film History and Art History, i. e. the subjects that coincided with my interests. It is also worth mentioning that the subject of my doctoral thesis was closely related to art : “ Aesthetics of corporeality based on the works of 20th and 21st century artists”. I have been living and working in Oxford for more than three years now.
The concept of my present art is based on obtaining recycled materials (for example: glass from bottles, vases, etc.) and creating something new, in this case lamps. My goal is to create something completely new based on the available materials, I give them a second life in a new form, in a new home. The lamp is crafted by individual pieces of hand-polished slides of glass which are wire-fastened and glued with adhesive. To create an impressive shade with lots of character, no two pieces of glass are the same. The specificity of lamp is that it looks different in the day time and differently at night. Used red (or green, yellow, purple, blue, white) LED lights illuminating green glass provide amazing effects, especially seen in the shadows. The lamp is equipped with a long cable with rocker switch on / off, with the option to disconnect the standard wall plug and use the USB port to connect laptop or powerbank.
