This is a space in which to DESCRIBE *THE ART CONTENT* OF YOUR EXHIBITION (rather than the venue details which are in your linked 'venue' page/exhibition entry. If you are exhibiting in a large group this will be administered by your exhibition organiser.)
You can use this portfolio space to present a virtual exhibition/studio. THIS is AN EXAMPLE
I am not an artist, so I have had to borrow other people's videos (thank you) but the overall flavour should give you a feel of ME as well as the art I create (or don't). I do however take snapshots of my Happy Place where I spend a lot of time, the Maltese island of Gozo; I did make a representative mosaic of my house in Faringdon with considerable artistic licence (and from which you can't really see the hilltop tower), and I do love a pair of warm slippers by the fire in the winter. In the summer I am more likely to be swimming in the Thames, or diving in the Azure waters of the Mediterranean. I have included these snippets of information and a characterful picture of myself in a comedy nearly-yoga pose/art environment so visitors to this portfolio can 'meet' me virtually. This mugshot is the virtual equivalent of my 'welcome'. (And if people like my 'style' as well as my art - or slippers - then they're more likely to visit my real exhbibition/follow me on social media.)
What should/can you add?
*1) 12 images* - upload some by 31st March to have a chance of being included in the taster videos for the online art trails trails.
Images should be at least 800x800 pixels. 1-2MB is best for onward pubicity purposes.
You can choose to show 12 pieces of work/details of pieces/work in situ or also include a couple of photos of process/details/your studio.
The first of the 12 will be used elsewhere on the website. (Your artist profile must have a MNIMUM OF SIX images to go live on the site in February) and will appear elsewhere, square, so if you can upload something square Great! If not, consider how it will look with its edges chopped off.
We suggest that you put sizes and prices of your pictures in the captions (short captions work best) or in a list below and make sure it is clear how to buy/contact you in the Contact The Artist secion at the bottom of this artist portfolio.
*2) Exhibition catalogue.*
The embedded catalogue is an example from a couple of years ago - and created using Flipsnack. An A4 catalogue in portrait would fill this space.
You should also click on the CATALOGUE link below it. Here I have used a stunning example, by Jane Peart. If you can use Word or Powerpoint they are very easy to do and you'll find <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/12GgR4uxbfAv_VWRdEkNuwD39-RuZGPLa/view">... in the [For Artists /Members section](/artists/latest-newsletters) of this website.
You will also be able to upload a pdf too for people to save to their own devices.
*3) You can include up to three videos which will be embedded in the page.*
They can be short films or a series of stills compiled into a video. You upload the video to Vimeo or Youtube and then add the LINK (not the video file) into boxes in your profile.
You can also links to any additional videos/a vimeo or youtube channel/other from this text.
Videos only need to be one-three minutes long (though they can be longer) and they don't need to be professionally produced. Your video can be very different from other people's just as every exhibition and studio has its own flavour.

*4) Alternative exhibition formats*
If you wish you can host an exhibition on your own website or as a Facebook album (check you have made it public) and put a link through to it from this text box on your profile. e.g. www.janetomlinson.com/artweeks-2022-online-catalog
For the technically-proficient, you could also create a 3D walk-through exhibition using Google galleries or similar software e.g. Bharat Patel's Recurring Dreams of Oxford. www.artsteps.com/view/5eadb0626a379e6fa4d77542
You can also include details of a live-stream event as part of the festival - on Facebook/youtube/Instagram/other.
The biography is about YOU, what inspires you and why.
Artweeks is a festival of artists not just art - and for visitors choosing an art teacher, thinking about a commission, and for publicity in the local media YOU are as or more important than your art.
Beware: a CV or list of past exhibitions is not engaging. Noone is going to visit you because you studied textiles in Hull in 1987 and had a series of exhibitions in Northampton between 2008 and 2016.
What's much more interesting is why are you a potter and not a jeweller or vice versa. Do you love playing with clay because it is a grown-up version of playing in the sandpit? What drew you to silversmithing – is your daemon a magpie? Your information here should be things on-line visitors can relate to, the things, places and feelings you love and value, or are interested in.
You hope visitors feel a connection with you whether that's because you have same breed of dog, love Oxfordshire's architecture or a rugged coastline, appreciate a simple elegance of form and an organic palette, or are drawn to vibrant colours and gay abandon.
And yes, of course you hope a visitor will love a piece and snap it up immediately, but if they fall for you too then they’ll sign up for your mailing list, follow you on Facebook and visit next year.
And if you have a feature piece written about you in the last couple of years e.g. www.janeduff.co.uk/wildsong-exhibition.html then this is a good place to include a link.
