My art is inspired by my surroundings. I usually work from references collected as sketches in the field and photographs that I have taken. Back in the studio I assemble images, making selective choices as I develop my final image that will form the basis of my print. I work on small, original editions of realistic images and these form the basis of my more commercial work. I also produce images that are more concerned with creating an impression of a location rather than an accurate depiction. In recent years these have been based on drawings collected over a thirty year period of drawings from a beach in Wales. Most recent work has involved me producing one-off images that are as unique as a painting and are related to landscapes here in the Cotswold. These have been shown at both the Bath International summer exhibition and the Autumn exhibition at the RWA.
My work has been collected both in this country and in America. Examples of these prints will be in the group exhibition at Buscot Park
as part of the Lechlade Art Society collective. Members of the public will be able to see me working on a Lino print and have the opportunity to " have a go" . I will also be showing recent prints that explore different forms of printmaking using card and monotype printmaking
