This year I will be exhibiting in two group shows, and Shipton on Cherwell and North Moreton Church.
Charlie Davies is a professional artist living in Oxfordshire, who divides her time between painting and printmaking. She trained as a textile designer where she developed her love of nature.
She paints using oils and adores the subtleties of colour and the effects of light, which can be achieved with this medium. Her paintings are predominately en plein air landscapes, but she also enjoys producing larger studio works and still lives.
Her etchings draw on the natural world for inspiration, and she is increasingly taking elements of the drawn landscape into her work. She belongs to the Oxford Printmakers Collective, where she produces her prints.
Charlie has won two People’s Choice awards for her artwork and exhibited several times at the Affordable Art Fair. She has exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and Society of Botanical Artists. She is an award-winning Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists and a member of the Oxford Art Society.
In 2023 she exhibited one of her etchings at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and sold the whole edition of 100.
Her paintings and etchings are in private collections worldwide.
