A powerful immersion in the Ocean 's shining colours. In the darkest hours when hope seems to have gone away, the memory of the past times must be the starting point to rebuild our restart and must give us the strength to resist(" Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot and the days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear ,We'll drink a cup of kindness yet for the sake of auld lang syne..."). So the shining colours of the Ocean can support us by giving the light of resilience and power to build a better and kinder world. “The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul"(Robert Wyland). Shining colours is a reference to MARIA DOYLE KENNEDY's songs and to "SHINING CITY", a poignant play by Conor McPherson. The title refers to the Bible "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.Instead they put it on its stand to give light to everyone in the house ".In the same way, let your light shine before others thanks to the shining colours of Nature and Kindness!
MARIA GRAZIA-FONTANA SHELTER
"Maria Grazia-Fontana Shelter”(member of West Ox Arts Bampton and Faringdon Art Society) carries on with the artistic activity of the Italian painter Luigi Fontana. The son of a decorator and nephew of a paintress who gave him an artistic education, at first he became a portraitist and his work was marked by a great vitality and rich tempera colours, taste and elegance. After he gave himself entirely over to the landscape. To Fontana, landscape and indeed the whole nature was a keen microcosm of man’s soul. He was particularly impressed by some majestic monuments of cities he visited and which he painted several times (pyrography on wood).
Fontana Shelter was recently created in his loving memory in order to publish his collections of prints and photographs and is supported by the cultural blog Downton Gazette (concerning whatever can be referred to Downton Abbey) of which it shares the brave motto :” You can change your life if you want to”( Mr Bates to Gwen, series 1). In fact Fontana Shelter is member of West Ox Arts Gallery in Bampton, the real location of Downton Abbey 's village.
So we must try to build a better and kinder world through art because “Beauty is truth ,truth is Beauty “(J. Keats ).
