Artist information
I was fortunate enough to be introduced to pottery a few years ago and I was in love from the outset. I now have a home studio and everything that I make is made in Woodstock.
My inspiration comes mainly from the natural world but I often focus on the ancient world. My life has come almost full circle from when I studied palaeontology at university (too many years ago to admit!) and then I left the industry to become a commercial pilot (hence the name jets-pottery) and now I'm finding joy again in mud and fossils.
Exhibition information
Artweeks has given me the opportunity to explore new forms, textures and decoration. I have developed my fossilware series further and incorporate ammonites and trilobites in much of my work. Everything I make is functional, whether it is kitchenware or homeware, like table lamps.
This year there'll be more organic and altered forms alongside new classic shapes like pedestal bowls and candlesticks. I have also started down the path of ceramic jewellery and this will be joining my exhibition.
