I will be exhibiting and selling my work at St Marys Church in Adderbury 4th - 12th May, along with 15 other talented artists.
I’m Esther, a lino print artist based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
My printing journey began in 2019 when, after completing a reduction lino printing workshop, I discovered a gift for creating bright, bold, stylised prints. I spent much of the Covid lockdown lino printing, with my hobby soon developing into a full-blown passion! After receiving lots of lovely feedback from family and friends (recipients of my numerous cards!) I decided to take the plunge and start selling my work.
I love the reduction process, from sketching out the designs, to carving the lino, to seeing the print come alive with each layer of ink. You are never totally sure that the print is going to work until the final reveal!
My hand printed originals are printed onto heavy weight traditional printmaking papers. This quality continues into my greeting card collection, where thick textured matt card beautifully enhances my designs.
Many of us are conscious of the environmental impact of the products we buy. With this in mind, my prints are created using biodegradable lino and printed onto FSA certified papers/card with recycled envelopes and compostable packaging.
