Artist information
Derbyshire born, Suffolk bred. I’m Thomas and I now live in Oxfordshire. My two main inspirations are the work of Edward Ardizzone and Rex Whistler, and my style is somewhere between the two. I work principally in Indian Ink and Polychromos artists’ pencils, occasionally adapting these as etchings. I take commissions, including maps and book illustration. In 2024 I undertook a commission from the owners of Weston Manor Hotel to draw their hotel to hang in their property in Oxfordshire. This year sees 30 years since my degree show exhibition at art college.
Exhibition information
Books, buildings, and beyond. A journey to discover stories and places where stories can be found and the ways between them. As an author and artist, I have a personal project to illustrate my way around the country of independent bookshops, and the landmarks and landscapes I discover on my way.
