I love a challenge!
Glassblowing is the hardest thing I have ever done! It's very challenging, expensive, addictive but so satisfying.
I self-taught through hiring studios and the owner for one-to-one tuition. After first blowing glass in 2012 and dabbling, I focused on it mid-2019 following a previous career and 20 years running a consultancy focusing on branded consumer goods - packaging design, development, sourcing and project management plus packaging department leadership working for some of the world's biggest brands.
In 2023 I appeared in the first BBC TV series “Make It At Market” aired in the UK and around the world and opened my own glass studio in South Buckinghamshire.
Exhibition information
I hand-create individual statement hot furnace glass art inspired by my sailing and diving encounters in remote, pristine wild nature - oceans, waves, mountains and polar wilderness.
These big expanses give me a sense of adventure and exhilaration and being there is a real privilege. Vast, rugged landscapes make me feel very small but connected with this world. I am concerned about their fragile future and want to raise awareness so others care and protect them too.
I blend 2,000-year-old methods with my own novel techniques to push the glass to its extremes.
Each piece is unique, signed and hand-crafted by me in my own studio in South Buckinghamshire, near London, UK.
