Will be exhibiting with the Faringdon Artists during Oxfordshire Artweeks 18th and 19th May and 24th to 27th May, in the historic Faringdon Old Town Hall.
Peter Wheelers’ training at Walsall School of Art, together with years of further classes with a wonderful tutor and mentor, Stan Parkes, culminated in the role of graphic designer/studio manager with an important Midland Advertising Agency. After twenty years of working with top name advertising, Peter felt the need to get back to his artistic roots, moved to Oxfordshire and for the next twenty five years ran his own very successful graphic design studio.
After retirement Peter marshalled his considerable talents and threw himself into recording his travelling experiences in paint on paper. Landscape, architecture, history and cultural treasures are his interests, and, together with a little whimsy, form his collection of acrylic paintings on paper – ranging from the fantastic light of the Klein Karoo in South Africa, through Egypt, Italy, France, Holland, India, China et al, to the cosy rural street scenes and lovely landscapes of his home town of Faringdon.
