Artist information
Verna Wass is a milliner, trained in traditional couture techniques, who uses her skills to create wearable art. Once a potter, Verna enjoys making sculptural forms using the plasticity of textile materials which, with the aid of steam, heat and a lot of elbow grease, can be transformed into self sustaining 3D structures. Verna draws inspiration from a wide range of cultural influences of different times and places, the natural world the built environment and the very materials she works with.
This years portfolio contains pieces from last years collection “Travels in Eastern Europe” featuring work inspired by architecture, space travel and traditional folk art.
This years collection is entitled “Spirit of Summer”….I wonder what surprises await.
