Verna loves to work with luscious, colourful silks and felts, embellishing her work with beading, ribbon work and feathers. She’s also not averse to a little sparkle, all in the best possible taste of course. She draws inspiration from architecture, science, the natural world and the people and traditions of places she visits on her travels. The collection in this exhibition is drawn from extensive travels in Eastern Europe and the Baltic states: from the onion domes of churches, the jewelled crowns and draped turbans of ancient rulers, to the high tech of space exploration and the gorgeous bridal headwear of traditional cultures.
