I'm exhibiting some expressive painting-collages with South Oxford Arts in which I sought to capture the simplicity and beauty of a fleeting moment in time.
I am a local London-born Indian female artist. Ranging from abstract to figurative, my paintings are inspired by the rich tapestry of my life experiences. From the light at dusk, to memories of childhood, to psychoanalytic theory, I draw inspiration from how the world around me connects to the world inside me; using my art practice as a way to visually process different states of mind and explore my identity.
My artistic process is playful, intuitive and explorative; often beginning with a subtle yet significant feeling, or a striking image or idea that sparks my imagination, or sometimes just mark-making can reveal what’s on my mind. I’m drawn to the versatility of acrylic paint and collage, and bold and bright colours, which I use to create vibrant paintings on paper, wood or canvas.
