I have always drawn and painted but now fully retired, have more time to apply myself. I enjoy attending art classes, learning more about painting, colour theory and practice, techniques and by doing this with fellow artists.
I am involved with South Oxford Arts, a community based arts organisation based at the South Oxford Community Centre. South Oxford Arts runs monthly workshops, puts on free events and is part of Oxfordshire Artweeks, bringing art, music and poetry to the Grandpont and New Hinksey part of Oxford.

This year I have been exploring more abstract work, using acrylics and pen, on A3 paper. I have enjoyed playing with colour and techniques to produce effects not always under my control - hopefully 'happy accidents'!

Painting an atmosphere, a feeling, rather than something more literal has been intriguing and sometimes frustrating.
