I am exhibiting in Great Milton with a group of six. – five years since the last show we held here .
Alongside my paintings are three well-established ceramicists - Jane Hanson, Prue Cooper and Laura Murtagh - all very different from each other.
Immediately next door is the printmaker Charlie Lee Potter who is exhibiting her work in her garden studio with printing presses to see.
Contemporary sculpture by Anthony Lloyd is shown in the beautiful space of the two adjoining gardens.
It promises to be a feast!
My paintings evoke a sense of space, light and stillness. Depth and translucency is created by gradually building up thin layers of paint in colours that are soft and subtle.
Sacha Craddock, the art critic and former Turner Prize panelist, comments ‘that the sense of light and space is managed brilliantly. The paintings have their own autonomous sense of self and place and space. They are real, working in their own terms. They are beautiful paintings.’
I graduated in 2003 with a Fine Art BA Hons 1st class degree. Winner of several prizes including Oxford Artweeks Mary Moser Award.
Exhibited widely in both solo and selected group shows, and my work is in several UK public collections and private collections around the world.
