I will be exhibiting in my home studio near the Thames footpath with my Mum and fellow printmaker Susan Wheeler. Our show will be a celebration of colour, shape, and the natural world, and will include linoprints, monoprints, etchings, collagraphs, and greetings cards.
The garden will be open to sit out in, with tea and cake on offer with proceeds going to the Woodland Trust.
I enjoy working in a semi-abstract and colourful style, paying close attention to shape and colour. I work primarily with mono-printing techniques, which I then incorporate with a variety of other print processes, including linoprint, etching, collagraph, and drypoint.
Around my own practice I work as a print technician at the Oxford Printmakers Co-operative, where I enjoy the knowledge and energy I get from the other members.
Inspiration for my work comes almost entirely from the natural world, the creatures who inhabit it, and a desire to capture the moments of magic that are experienced when in these wilder places. I print because I love the process of taking something that inspires, excites, or moves me, and expressing it in my own way through line, tone, shape and colour. I love the process of crafting something by hand and the energy and sense of connection it brings.
