First ever solo exhibition by this founder member of the Ewelme Watercress Painters at St Mary’s Church, Parsons Lane, Ewelme, Wallingford OX10 6HP on Saturday and Sunday 18 and 19 May and Saturday and Sunday 25 and 26 May between 10am and 4pm.
I just love to paint! I want to paint everything of beauty! Colour, often vibrant, and beauty of the Chiltern countryside or my native Scotland is what most excites and inspires me.
Having had a scientific education and a career in travel I came late to painting but when your retirement present is all sorts of painting equipment you just have to have a go! So, with no formal training, I joined a local art group and then set up my own Watercress Painters, a local Ewelme village group, 11 years ago where we enjoy plein air painting, workshops and gallery visits. So lucky to live in such a beautiful village in stunning surroundings I take my I inspiration from nature whilst out walking my wonderful Belgian Shepherd dogs.
I will be exhibiting my colourful original oil paintings in St Mary’s Church (opposite The Pottery where four artists are exhibiting with Harriet Coleridge), Parsons Lane, in the historic village of Ewelme, near Wallingford OX10 6HP on Saturday and Sunday 18 and 19 May and Saturday and Sunday 25 and 26 May from 10-4. I will also have mugs, bookmarks and copies of my travel epistle ‘How I travelled to Kathmandu on Three Toilet Rolls and barely made it’ available! All will be for sale although no pressure to buy but I do hope you will come to see me! Trisha Scott, Trisha.watercress@hotmail.co.uk. 07884 330453.
