During the times listed on the artweeks site,, I will be exhibiting my drawings, paintings and ceramics in my art shed. I will also be doing some drawings and perhaps decorating some ceramic items in my sgraffito style when I am waiting for visitors. I will have prints, small paintings and ceramics for sale and there will be refreshments on offer.
I graduated from Canterbury college of Art in 1989 and I have worked in design company as an illustrator, also as a freelance illustrator and in art and craft, using a variety of 2D and 3D media.
I have recently been creating illustrations using pen and ink for a drawing challenge called Inktober. I have completed the weekly Inktober 2023 drawing challenge and the drawing a day challenge during October 2022 and 2023. I have found it really inspiring, creating a body of work with my own visual language and it has given me ideas that I am going to continue to work on outside of the drawing challenge.
I also produce small paintings and I started a ceramics course in January 2023. I have always loved making three dimensional objects, I used to make animals and artefacts from papier mache but I am enjoying creating objects, characters and animals in clay, which both inspire my drawings and are inspired by some of the contents in my illustrations.
I also love to sketch, both in situ sketching and sketchbook journaling which includes maps, collage, illustration, writing and scrapbooking. I will also have a selection of my sketchbook journals to view.
