I am a mixed media artist who loves working with textiles and hand printed paper. I am fascinated with layers, pattern and texture and the way different mediums can be combined, often with surprising results.
I most enjoy free machine embroidery and collage and as I never quite know how my work will turn out, I allow it to develop organically and intuitively.
Most of my pieces are slightly wonky and quirky and I like nothing better than to find or reuse something and turn it into something else. I print many of my own collage papers and textiles and use them to create unique one off pieces.
I am inspired by many things including the natural world and particularly by the juxtaposition of shapes and patterns forming an abstract of the familiar.
I have a particular fondness for gardens and I work from my own summerhouse studio in my own.
