Many of my artworks are inspired by the trees at Wytham and in Headington Hill Park, and by the plants at Oxford’s Botanical Gardens. Also I love the work of Vanessa Bell and Winfred Nicholson, and if I’m given flowers I’ll often position them on my desk to paint as my own still life.
Inspired by Octavia Hill to see beauty in everything, I mostly paint and draw what I notice when I’m out walking or gardening or on my allotment in Oxford. I work in oils, acrylics or pencil. 70% of my sales will go to support the homelessness charity beam helping people find new jobs and homes. This is the first time I have exhibited in Oxfordshire Artweeks and contributed an online portfolio.
