My works will be on show along side those of my husband, the potter Robin McClelland. So by coming to our venue you get two for the "price" of one.
I make paintings & drawings of landscapes and figures, from life and imagination, to depict atmosphere and arouse curiosity. I work with colour & texture to animate my work. Life drawing has been a life-long interest and some of the works on show comes from this pursuit. The works are based on my observation and interpretation of what I see and feel, at home and abroad. Sometimes l work from memory and then the emotion evoked informs the image. What the curious viewer sees and feels is often, for me, the most interesting, sometimes surprising, and always challenging part of making art. This is the first time I've exhibited my work to the public. I'm terrified and excited in equal measure.
Come and tell me what you see!
