My works will be on show along side those of my husband, the potter Robin McClelland. So by coming to our venue you get two for the "price" of one.
I make paintings & drawings of landscapes and figures, from life and imagination, to depict atmosphere and arouse curiosity. I work with colour & texture to try and animate my work. Life drawing has been a life-long interest and some of the work on show comes from this pursuit. Generally the works are based on my observation and interpretation of the places and people I see on my travels and in my daily life. The attempt to capture the image I see in my minds eye and share that with the viewer is a lifelong pursuit. What the curious viewer sees and feels is often, for me, the most interesting, sometimes surprising, and always challenging part of making art. Come and tell me what you see!
