Artist information
I trained as a Painting Conservator at the Hungarian University of Fine Art.
In my full time role, I work on the conservation of easel paintings - cleaning and repairing their damages.
In the past, I was also involved in mural restoration project as well as decorative painting on architectural surfaces.
Alongside this, I’ve been exploring my own artistic path in my studio in Wallingford for the past six years.
Exhibition information
For me, finally worked details are especially important- those that can evoke emotion through the interplay of colours and the pairing of textures.
As an artist, I’m captivated by early Renaissance tempera paintings.
It’s from these that my desire for craftmanship and refinement stems- the belief that art should embody the sense of wholeness present in the moment that inspired its artwork.
I’m drawn to techniques that can reveal that essence.
While I enjoy using traditional methods, I also love working with watercolour and pastel and experimenting with new materials.
My @noir.koi jewellery pieces emerged from this spirit as they’re made from repurposed materials - specifically, bicycle inner tubes.
Through transformation, the material takes on a new meaning, while retaining the energy of its previous life.
It holds the spirit of the movement and travel and in the process of reworking, it gains a gleaming surface - a kind of skin- allowing it to step into another dimension.
