Artist information

Janie trained as a Fine Art Printmaker in the ’80’s at Central School of Art and Design in London. She took up ceramics in the late 1990’s whilst living in the Northeast and continues to work across 2D and 3D today. She has been taught by several inspiring ceramicists in the Northeast, in Perth, Australia and in Hanoi, Vietnam. When she is not making art, she works with Good Food Oxfordshire on food systems change, with particular interest in sourcing nature-positive food grown locally in Oxfordshire.

Exhibition information

My work is getting larger! With each handbuilt piece, I am pushing the clay to do more and working to the limits of my small kiln. I am increasingly wanting to fire in the open air in my raku kiln, which provides very dynamic glazing.
