"Since Graduating from Bath Academy of Art my work experience has encompassed many spheres of Graphic Design and Illustration. I began work in a design consultancy in London and moved on to a Senior Designer Post at the Open University in Milton Keynes. My main responsibility at the Open University was to undertake the designs for the Open University publications which included all the cover and internal designs for the distance learning material for students. It also included other publications such as leaflets, posters and exhibitions.
During this time I started teaching Graphic Design part time at Milton Keynes College. I finally left the Open University to set up a Graphic Design Department at the College whilst continuing to teach and practice design. The work involved establishing the corporate style in all the publications including posters, leaflets, college magazines and teaching materials. For the last two years I taught undergraduates Graphic Design. All my design work
is produced on the Apple Macintosh system using, Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Word. I gained an MA in Printmaking in 2002.
I retired three years ago immersing myself into my first love of fine art. I have been experimenting with many different mediums. I have produced many portrait sculptures in clay. I’m now working with oils, pastels and acrylics to produce portraits and landscapes. I also use my digital skills to enhance my finished artwork taking it to a different creative direction. I run workshops in Sculpture and Portraiture at Vitreus Arts transferring the knowledge I have gained from the experience of my creative career.
I regularly exhibits my work in Buckingham with BAFA and enter exhibitions and I have had my work commended and highly commended in venues such as the Heseltine Gallery.
