Artist information
My involvement with the art world and the desire to paint has allowed me to explore amazing locations both close to home and further afield which have often become the focus of my work. Originally from the Sussex coast, I now reside around the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border where the involvement with local art groups has helped build my confidence. I have used watercolour, acrylics, and oils, presenting landscapes, coastal scenes and elements of wildlife. My painting has also brought me into contact with many local charities. I have contributed to art events staged on behalf of the ‘SeeSaw' children's bereavement charity, the 'Hummingbird Centre at Launton', ‘Bicester Autism’ and during the summer of 2023 and 2024 I attended a privately sponsored annual 'Garden Painting' opportunity at Kingsbridge Farm in Buckinghamshire, with the Artist Peter Keegan, in aid of cancer vaccination research. I have been involved with Oxfordshire Artweeks since 2022 and have exhibited in 2023 and 2024. I am looking forward to overseeing a new venue for Artweeks in 2025 in the village of Cropredy. To help enhance my artwork I construct my own frames and where possible upcycle both contemporary and classical frames, sourcing these through various charity outlets. More recently I have enjoyed portraiture and en plein air, and I have taken great pleasure in studying classical impressionists.” My memberships include Visual Artists Association (VAA), Supporting All Artists (SAA) and more recently as an exhibitor for the Church Lane Gallery (CLG) in Banbury.
