Sorry that we're not able to be open for Artweeks this year. But we hope to have an Exhibition at Edith Road Workshops later in the year, when we all feel safe again.
My website www.gordonstokes.co.uk has two 'virtual books'. One is a general exhibition of my work, while the other is "Lockdown Days" showing images taken during my daily exercise outings.
I started printing photographs aged 13, and have used monochrome, colour print and slide film. All is now digital and is mainly seascapes from the Scilly, Cornwall, the Outer Hebrides and elsewhere, combined with landscapes of Oxfordshire.
I have exhibited in various places including the Hexagon in Reading, West Ox Arts in Bampton, and more locally at the John Radcliffe, Churchill and Warneford Hospitals, local cafés Ferry Swimming Pools in Summertown and St Peter and St Paul Church, Botley.
For the last 30 years I have lived and worked in the Oxford area, but love nothing better than to escape to the quiet coasts and beaches of the far West. My photography has been combined with a career in research, including working for the Countryside Agency.
