Flora Gregory and Nimmi Naidoo are The Mappists, https://themappists.wordpress.com
As artists-in-residence with the Wychwood Project, we are working on a socially engaged project 'Being In The Wychwood' with 'Come Into The Woods' and 'The Map Room: Make Your Mark!' The project looks at how we connect with nature and how it can improve our wellbeing. We look forward to seeing you, hopefully, at the Wychwood Fair - on Saturday 6th September 2020 where we will be with 'The Map Room:Make your Mark!' Please do come and say hello and 'make your mark'.
Flora's work looks at the human-nature relationship, at our increasing dislocation as we become urbanised, and the role of the imagination and story telling in transformation.
Much of her work is done walking in the Wychwood Forest, where her studio is - under a beech tree.
Flora gained an MA in Social Sculpture with Distinction at Oxford Brookes in 2018, winning the Social Sculpture Prize. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art and Contemporary Practice from Middlesex University in 2000.
