At Didcot Street Fair November 28th 2019
After retiring I commandeered our extension as an art area and began painting every day with early morning and late evening being the times I enjoyed doing this. This is my man cave where I can be messy and creative. I began more regular trips back to the north east and once again began painting the area, but my main focus this time was on the ever changing sea. I also began beach combing for driftwood and the shape was the inspiration for the painting it became. Living in White Horse Vale, I have become more interested in using nature as a source for painting and natural resources for painting on - driftwood/ reclaimed wood/ slate. I like that they are not a white piece of paper waiting for that first mark. They have a story to tell and I am ready to tell it.
