I am a sculptor working in clay and stone. I carve in a wide range of limestones and also soapstone which I smooth and wax to bring out the beautiful colours and patterns within. Heavily grogged terracotta and stoneware are my favourite clays and coiling my preferred method. My interest in both clay and stone lies in form rather than colour or texture. I draw my inspiration from organic forms in nature; seed pods, fossils, bones, shells and particularly the human body.
