From my studio I will be exhibiting wall pieces (framed and unframed) and a selection of felted and embroidered bags, scarves and accessories. These range from large shoulder and crossbody bags to small slings, pouches and purses - something for everyone!
In line with the current Covid 19 guidance, the wearing of masks will be respected inside my studio, and hand wash will be provided. Weather permitting, the front sliding doors will remain open.
I am a textile artist working from my home studio in the tiny village of Waterstock, taking inspiration from the detail found in nature and science.
I generally base my work on wet felted wool, adding other fibres with hand or free machine embroidery to create layered textural surfaces. My work takes many forms; from contemporary art hangings and sculptures for exhibition, to functional handbags and accessories. My design work is abstract in nature, employing mark making and allowing motif creation to develop from drawing and printing research.
Since returning to the UK after 14 years in Australia, I have been exhibiting my textile art with Untethered Fibre Artists www.untetheredfibreartists.com in Australia, and both Prism Textiles www.prismtextiles.co.uk and the Oxfordshire Craft Guild www.ocg.co.uk in UK.
