CAPTURED 2023
OXFORD PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY - ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Visit the beautiful Cloister Gallery of the Soldiers of Oxford Museum and view this multifaceted exhibition of outstanding photographs by OPS members. Whilst contemplating what you have seen over a drink in the garden cafe, we hope you will become sufficiently inspired to get out your camera or phone and start making your own images.
United by a common goal, to click the shutter and capture an image, every member gets the opportunity to include their images in this, our annual show. We hope you enjoy the variety of work on display.
OPS was founded in 1889 to make the art and science of photography more widely available. Today, our mission is to bring inspiration, creativity and connection through photography to people of all ages and backgrounds.
We achieve this through weekly meetings which cover a variety of presentations from inspirational photographers to tips and techniques, competitions and photographic workshops. Outside the weekly meetings there are regular member's outings from day trips to cities like Birmingham and Bath or festivals in London like Purim and Pride. Further afield members join up for expeditions to off the beaten track parts of Istanbul for street, portrait and travel photography or Africa to photograph the wildlife.
Join us - "Photography is not about the camera or the equipment, but about the photographer's eye and their vision." - David duChemin
OPS meet every Tuesday evening from September to June at the Oxford Silver Band Hall in Temple Road. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in photography. New members are always welcome. Come along and give us a try!
