Makespace Oxford is a beehive of creatives and makers including Sabali Pots Community Studio and Cassandra Sabo. For Artweeks 2024 we'll be sharing our latest pottery: primarily functional ceramics, handmade objects which are meant to make the everyday a bit more special: think cosy handmade mugs for morning coffee, a spot to put a favourite ring, or a special vase to hold a spring bouquet. While our styles are wide-ranging, members of Sabali Pots are drawn together by our love of clay, community and creating a supportive ceramics community.
Cassandra Smith is a designer and hand-weaver of richly-textured, sustainable textiles and lighting that create warm and luxurious interiors. Her unique design aesthetic fuses inspiration from her travels with her love of experimentation with natural materials and craft techniques. This creative, sustainable approach to design has earned her awards, inclusion in magazines and partnerships with The Campaign for Wool.
