My main current interest is drawing and painting from my imagination, often using using poetry as a starting point and in particular contemporary forms of the traditional Japanese haiku as interpreted by Jack Kerouac (1922-69), the American novelist and poet.
I also draw ideas and inspiration from the natural world in North Oxfordshire, the Lake District and, more recently, the Cornish coastline as well as (in contrast) the streets of London.
