Come to see my original oil paintings, sold only here, together with unique cards and prints. Some regular visitors come here for the pathway up to the studio as much as the exhibitions, through the cottage garden behind the old thatched house. There will also be Lucy, with her popular ceramics, in the conservatory.
Three more venues are just a short (circular) walk or drive away. The coordinated village exhibitions are back in strength, after last year off, with more exhibitors, even more variety and a new fourth space.
My paintings are usually to do with the natural world, with more landscapes this year. These will be on my website (susannabrunskill.uk) in Spring 2024 but, however good the photo, they are much more effective seen in person. They’re mainly oils, because I enjoy using brush strokes with good colour, but there will probably be some watercolours too.
I can promise two things. The first is reasonable pricing, especially for original oils of a good size. That’s because I don’t sell anywhere else and so prices don’t cover commission or venue hire, also because we make our frames. The second, probably connected, is no pressure to buy, because it’s great to meet people who want to look and have an interesting free day out. Anyway, a lot sells. A self-critical artist likes to hear ‘I must have that’ and when people are buying paintings as special presents. There is always friendliness, chat and sitting around in the garden - with lots of chairs and shelter.
The oils are satin varnished on cradled wood panels, in floating/tray frames.
Artweeks signs in village, parking on road and in drive, special pub: www.olivieratthechequers.co.uk. Use what3words?: soldiers.flap.staining. Card payment and ApplePay.
