With a new house and studio I have been inspired to create fresh designs and experiment with different clays and methods of decoration. Inevitably elements of my old style remain such as using coloured slip for decoration and scrafitto work for texture. I still predominantly work with porcelain However I have been moving away from slip casting, doing a lot more hand building or using a mould as a former. I like the new work, it is fresh, vibrant and leaves lots of scope for further development.
I continue to be inspired by flora and fauna , colour, decoration, rather like the traditional staffordshire figurines. My work has become much more labour intensive but that in fact makes it so much more worthwhile, each piece has a memory of the making process.
