A rare opportunity to visit Kieran's studio at the top of the yellow tower on the Island at Folly Bridge where the Thames splits into two. Kieran has worked here for over 20 years. From the roof terrace It has panoramic views overlooking the whole of the Oxford basin.

Kieran’s paintings begin outside, often in the landscapes of Cornwall, where he originally trained studying Fine Art at Falmouth. These works are then developed and refined over subsequent weeks in his Oxford studio. Layers of oil paint are superimposed with fractured marks, dashes and splatters that capture the spirit of a continually changing landscape. These evocative images are full of vitality, fizzing with life and electric colour. As Kieran puts it: Colour is exciting and experimenting with it can provoke all kinds of questions. Life is abstract and vision can be beyond conventional realism. This way of working allows me to paint what I feel and imagine, not what I know.

As part of the research fellowship, he explored the links between psychological wellbeing and creativity. His work is represented by Browse and Darby, Cork Street, Mayfair London.
