I started printing photographs aged 13. I use digital photography now but have used monochrome, colour print and slide film.
My work is mainly seascapes from the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, the Outer Hebrides and elsewhere, combined with landscapes of Oxfordshire. My inspiration has always come from land, sea and sky, but the composition and style has been influenced by impressionist and abstracted paintings much more than by other photography. The images are simple in composition but convey the feeling of the place they were taken, often by framing multiple prints together. They all aim to show the beauty of the natural world and the great outdoors. I have exhibited in various places including the Hexagon in Reading, West Ox Arts in Bampton, and more locally at the Churchill, Warneford and John Radcliffe Hospitals. For the last 30 years I have lived and worked in the Oxford area, but love nothing better than to escape to the quiet coasts and beaches of the far West.
