Exhibiting for the third year at fitch and fellows in Thame, Kate will be showing jewellery from across her six collections including new pieces designed for Artweeks. With a focus on statement necklaces and earrings her designs are perfect for the everyday and special occasions. Contemporary in design and with attention to subtle textures, gentle colours and defined forms the work is classically stylish but with an unusual twist. Her collections are predominantly based around the use of hand-crafted silver or gold-plated units that play on themes such as scale, pattern formation and texture. These finished units are often combined with contrasting materials such as cork, climbing cord and semi-precious beads to create unique one off pieces or small batch produced staples.
Kate studied Jewellery Design at the Royal College of Art and has exhibited both nationally and internationally over the years. She is an active member of both the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Craft Guilds and exhibits her work in several galleries across the UK.
Kate first encountered Susannah of fitch and fellows at Chelsea Crafts Fair in 1997 when Susannah was scouting for new work for her then London based gallery Fitch's Ark, several years and children later they continue to work together through the gallery in Thame and enjoy a supportive and creative friendship.
This year Kate will be working on her jewellery in the centre of the gallery surrounded by inspirationally beautiful fresh work in the fitch and fellows "Clean and Classic" exhibition.
