Helen White discovered her love of Photography growing up in the landscapes and light of Zimbabwe. When she moved to the UK as an adult, she gained City and Guilds in photography. Her work as a printer, coupled with using her photographic skills in a forensic capacity, bring precision and focus to her work which complement her ability to see and create images of the unusual and beautiful in life.
In the pictures exhibited, Helen finds mystery and other-worldliness in the natural world and in the urban day to day.
Her work includes evocative images of West Oxford transformed by the aurora borealis, or simply by twilight or moonrise – to ‘Street Art’ - unexpected patterns and textures in abstract and realistic images found in the street. Characterised by a striking and varied use of colour, used in different ways, they illustrate the range of Helen’s work.
