This year I plan to exhibit more adventurous pieces in Earthenware and Stoneware, exploring techniques of spontaneous slip decoration and textured mark-making.
I originally trained in Fashion and Textile design and worked for the English National Opera and then for the independent fashion designer Paddy Campbell. Once I had moved to South Oxfordshire I attended evening classes with the potter, Jane Hanson. Another move further north allowed me to follow my dream of having a workshop. I have established my own style of potting by hand, to create useful, but striking earthenware tableware and individual statement pieces in Stoneware. I am always pushing myself to create more unusual and eye-catching work that can be enjoyed without being too precious.
