Creating large and small unique pieces, and working with a wide range of clays, from soft and smooth porcelain to the fabulous grittiness of textured clay, I use a range of techniques including throwing, pinching, coiling and slab making. As well as continuing with geometric sgrafitto (carving into the clay), I have been developing decorative finishes, using coloured slips, mark making and textures, to create abstract images on my work. I plan to demonstrate simple making and decorating of small pots in order to share my techniques (depending on the weather) each day .
