This year I'm exhibiting with a large group of artists and craftspeople in the Pop-up Gallery behind the 'Spice Lounge' in Summertown where there will be a great variety of artworks to see.
I'll be showing landscapes, especially of Port Meadow, painted in both oils and watercolours, as well as some still lifes and a few in mixed media. There are also a few 'clearance' paintings and some of the timeless limited edition prints of Oxford (the full range can be seen on my website). And finally a few clay sculptures; some simply fired to stoneware and some decorated for fun!
And, if interested, here's some official blurb about me:
With very little formal training, I've been a full time professional artist for well over 30 years and have painted mainly architecture and landscapes of Oxford and also South Africa. Over the years I've been fortunate to illustrate numerous books - 'Oxford Words and Watercolours', 'Consider England' as well as guide books for Pitkin publishers; 4 books about notable Oxford medical luminaries with David Cranston FRS; and books by local historian, Mark Davies. A recent large commission for 70 watercolours of Worcester College also resulted in a book. Currently, a number of my 'classical' architectural paintings of Oxford are being hugely enlarged and reproduced as wallpaper for a new residential home near Oxford.
I work happily in both watercolours and oils and since lockdown have taken up sculpting the figure in clay which I find thoroughly enjoyable and inevitably challenging! So who knows what might come next?!
