This year about 16 artists will be exhibiting in St Barnabas Church for Artweeks and as I live immediately opposite, I hope you'll come and visit!
I’m showing landscapes especially of Port Meadow painted in both oils and watercolours; as well as some other subjects. There are also a few 'clearance' paintings and some of the timeless limited edition prints of Oxford (the full range can be seen on my website). In addition, there will be some discontinued prints of Oxford available, with all proceeds going to Sobell House Hospice. (courtesy of Templecrest Art)
Also, in my small garden there will be a few clay sculptures, mostly figures with a couple of fun pieces!
And if you’re interested, here's some official blurb about me!
I started my working life as a medical research technician in clinical immunology but then, with no formal training, the more creative side developed, and I’ve now been a full-time professional artist for about 35 years. I’ve painted mainly architecture and landscapes of Oxford and South Africa and have been fortunate to illustrate numerous books - 'Oxford Words and Watercolours', 'Consider England' as well as guidebooks for Pitkin publishers; 4 books about notable Oxford medical luminaries with David Cranston FRS; and books by local historian, Mark Davies. A commission for 70 watercolours of Worcester College also resulted in a book. Most recently, some of my 'classical' architectural paintings of Oxford have been hugely enlarged and reproduced as wallpaper for the Wellford Care home at Wheatley...
I enjoy working in both watercolours and oils and since lockdown have taken up sculpting the figure in clay which I find thoroughly enjoyable - and challenging! I also love attending new classes and workshops to try out new things… it’s a great way to spend one’s ‘retirement years…’!
