I am a botanical artist working primarily in coloured pencil. I began to make botanical art some 20 years ago after moving to the UK from Canada. I first encountered pencil work at an exhibition of the Society of Botanical Artists in London in 2004. I was inspired by the amazing detail and luminous colours achieved and decided to teach myself the techniques. I continue to be inspired and I’m still learning. I was made a full member of the SBA in 2011 when I received a commendation for the Joyce Cuming Presentation Award. In 2020 I received an award of botanical merit (SBA). In 2023 I was awarded the Faber Castell prize for 4 works exhibited in the Plantae 2023 exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.
This year I will be exhibiting with my friend, Jane Hainsworth who makes unique and beautiful pieces of jewellery.
