Diana Sainsbury, of Duns Tew Pottery [http://www.dunstewpottery.com/], works in stoneware and specialises in creating her own glazes. Her aim is to produce an extensive range of pieces which are both useful and beautiful. The pieces are hand-thrown on an antique Leach-type wooden kick-wheel, then dried, bisque-fired to 1000 degrees Celsius, glazed, and finally fired to 1220-1250 degrees Celsius. The high firing temperature makes the ware very tough and durable, and it is dishwasher-safe and oven-proof.
