I am a creative Stone carver and glass artist and have been taking part in Oxfordshire Artweeks for many years.
My work is inspired by Nature, Wildlife and Celtic Cornwall. I enjoy working outdoors and losing myself if Art. I have my own diverse style and have learnt my skills through workshops and experiment.
My artweeks exhibition will be in the garden, studio and pop-up gallery. Of course all of my work will be for sale from smaller gifts to sculpture for the garden. Larger pieces will be displayed around the garden for you to discover and more delicate glass creations and smaller sculptures indoors.
I will be available throughout Artweeks to chat and answer questions and you will also be able to see me carving stone - weather permitting.
I look forward to meeting you!
From the Warwickshire Advertiser:
My adventure with stone sculpture began in 2007 with a workshop class gifted to me as a birthday present. This developed quickly into a hobby and has continued to grow and expand. It wasn’t long before I began to experiment with exhibiting my work. This was terrifying at first but I was overwhelmed when someone wanted to buy something.
I live on a farm with my husband. My little studio is in the garden overlooked by theUffington White Horse. This is a huge source of artistic inspiration for me along with memories of my childhood growing up in Cornwall.
Animals and nature feature strongly in my sculptures and much of my work has a Celtic twistoften with a nod to Cornish myth and magic.
Working with stone is relaxing and meditative. You don’t need a huge amount of strength.I work my stone using traditional methods which requires patience. The addition of glass to my work adds an extra dimension and is a fantastic outlet for my imagination. The stone and glass work so well both together and separately.
I was absolutely delighted and speechless to hear I had won the Warwickshire Advertiser Award of Excellence for Contemporary Stone Sculptor of the Year 2023. I had no ideaI was even a candidate and feel so honoured to be singled out. This is an amazing accolade and it’s wonderful to know that people are enjoying my work.
