I like to paint realistic still-life, enjoying the challenge of striving for realism without it looking too photographic. You may find me hunting around the Oxford outdoor market and antique stalls looking for interesting things to paint, after collecting various items, I then put my vision on to canvas. I have more recently tried my hand at portraits inspired by the people of Jericho. I do love how people express themselves with the use of scarves, hats, jewellery, make-up including beards/ hair styles etc. I strive to capture an expression on each face that would portray a mood/personality. My portrait picture gallery is called ‘Faces of Jericho’. The people are ‘real’ .
Painting started after a career on the airlines and lockdown forced me to fill my time with something creative. I discovered I had a talent for art after attending a few beginners classes. I have since worked my way through various workshops and masterclasses to become more confident with my work. I have tried my hand at life drawing, acrylic painting, oil pastels and oils. Oil painting has quickly turned into my passion. I am now a dedicated oil painting artist working from my own little studio at home over looking the beautiful Oxford Canal. I also enjoy practising yoga.
