For Oxfordshire Art Weeks 2023 I am very fortunate to be able to show my work again in the West Ox Arts Gallery in Bampton. I re-use antique fabrics, silverware, books and dolls and whatever else I can find and transform them into quirky creatively up-cycled items. Whatever I find in various materials, inspires my next project, keeping my body of work exciting and varied.
Currently, I embroider on Antique Garden sieves and tennis rackets and on vintage Toile de Jouy. Also Silver teapots and cutlery are transformed into wind chimes and antique books into bird cages.
I studied as a Textile Designer, graduating with a degree in Textile Design & Surface Pattern and by re-using material for my work, I want to celebrate the original makers whose skills are dying out, and to show the beauty that these worn pieces and fragments still possess.
