An eclectic mix of textile work including quilted work, jewellery and framed pieces will be on display. Kerry's artwork is inspired by the natural world and in particular by walking in nature in a variety of environments and experiencing the history of the landscape. Natural dyes and found items picked up on her walks may be incorporated with hand or machine stitch to produce tactile textiles, wearable items and soft furnishings. Travel in her campervan to different parts of the UK also influences her work. Paper-based work will be on view with some sketchbook work.
A keen walker, Kerry is inspired by the history of the landscape through which she walks. She has a thorough grounding in textile techniques and processes through a first degree in fashion and textiles, followed by a 4 year City & Guilds course in embroidery and an MA in Fine Art (Textiles). She teaches embroidery, patchwork, quilting and dressmaking at the FIbreworks in Chipping Norton and to small numbers in her home studio by arrangement. Commissions are accepted.
