I am mainly an acrylic artist , but often use mixed media in my more abstract pieces. As always I will be showing such varied work, both impressionistic as well as abstract, but always related to the depth and beauty of our landscape and the seasons, which I am always captivated by and am so looking forward to meeting people, some new and some established visitors and collectors.
This is the first time we have met as group in the village of Piddington Oxfordshire, and it is also the first time that Oxford Art Weeks has been at this fabulous updated hall. We are an eclectic group of 9 artists working both in 2&3D. There are 3 (very individual) painters, a photographer, Printer, jeweller and 2 potters and a sculptor. We will also be providing delicious homemade cake along with tea and coffee, for you to have while you decide which are your favourite pieces! This is going to really be a worthwhile trip for you.

I originally trained and worked as a commercial picture restorer, and in so doing got inspired to go to art college as a slightly mature student. Here I mainly worked with print medium, really loving this process. Having then got married and while my family grew up I returned to working from home for several galleries as a picture restore - I'm afraid safe money was needed, as our main income was from training and keeping horses at livery on our farm, -a far cry from the art scene I had been involved in during my time in London! and much mucking out of horses stables was done too, but Once the family grew up, I then found that painting for myself began calling me back. I started using watercolour for several years which taught me a lot about the various aspects and details of art making, but having discovered acrylic as a medium, I knew immediately I had found what I needed, to start producing the work that was inside me. The freedom, immediacy and such total versality of this medium is just wonderful and allows me to endlessly search for different aspects within art
I am an acrylic, sometimes mixed media, expressionistic and abstract artist, sometimes using the real image of the scene, but also often more and more from my imagination, which I find far more taxing and exciting. I always paint to keep exploring the colours, textures mark making and just push to find what can be done to portray our wonderful countryside, be it literally or emotionally, depending how I am drawn. I find painting totally exciting and have been so lucky that living in the depth of the countryside, I am able to walk through it for inspiration. My work is definitely my saviour and I really cannot imagine a life without it, and the time to explore into it further also wonderful.
I look forward to meeting chatting and showing you some of my work. i will have some paintings in Venue in bicester, but will be spending most of my time in Venue 343 which is in my home village of Piddington
