Casimira is a well established Oxfordshire artist living in Bicester and has been painting her colourful quirky artwork for over 10 years. She has been extremely fortunate to have found lots of locations over the years locally to sell her artwork and is currently exhibiting at Annies Tearooms both in their tearoom in Thrupp near Kidlington Oxfordshire and at their Abingdon branch where she also sells her gifts with images from her original artwork, very bright and colourful gifts such as teatowels, chopping boards, coasters, Oxford tote bags with zips etc. She has been selling her artwork and gifts at The Crafter's Emporium on the High, Oxford for the last couple of years and now at their Bicester Branch in Sheep Street. Her Oxford quirky tote bags have been extremely popular in Oxford, She loves to paint in bright colours and her artwork has a certain childlike element to it an innocence about it fun and quirky and joyful. She does also branch out into more abstract at times with her Oxford Radcliffe Camera paintings. Although she now lives in Bicester she loves to paint Oxford scenes as this is where she grew up and went to school and College. Presently she is painting a series of Oxford South Park , London Place near St Clements paintings as this area has particular meaning to her as several family members including her late grandmother lived in London Place and she spent much time here staying with her grandmother while going to college. She uses mixed media in her Oxford paintings which include newspaper which she initially layers on the canvas to give texture and showing the newspaper through the acrylic paints. She also often uses painted sheet music and maps which she scours the charity shops looking for second hand items to upcycle so often her paintings uses a lot of upcycled items which she feels helps to save items going to the skip and having a new purpose. Having worked voluntarily and having helped manage charity shops for many years before she became an artist she has a great affinity with the whole concept of upcycling, recycling and reusing and helping good causes having worked for Marie Curie, Oxfam, the Shaw Trust, Barnados and Helen and Douglas House. She also often uses imitation copper, silver and gold leaf in her paintings as well as sometimes embroidery and glitter. Casimira also sells her greeting cards in various shops around Oxfordshire. Once a month she now sells her gift ware at Deddington Craft Fare in Deddington Church which she loves and in February 2023 she will be exhbiting for one month at The Art Cafe opposite Westgate in Oxford.
