My exhibitions are a celebration of bold and beautiful colours with strong and suggestive shapes that I use to create my signature graphic style.
My work is inspired by childhood memories and a love of the natural world and simply from finding joy in every day life.
My limited edition lino prints range from true representations to abstractions, from mini prints to much larger ones and black & white to full on colour, whatever suits the subject.
I am a printmaker, who specialises in lino printing. I've been practising this type of printmaking for 9 years now but more seriously in the last few years since leaving my career in the electricity industry to follow that niggling artistic bug I've had all my life.
I'm inspired a lot by my children and thinking back on my own childhood, the holidays and the special moments, I guess its just what stage in my life that I'm at. I also have a small (or some might say large) obsession with trying lots of different types of arts and crafts which you can sometimes see come through in my printmaking, for example my 'In Glass' series was inspired by a stained glass making course. There is always a new project on the go, and a lot of 'in progress' ones too!
Each lino print can take numerous weeks to complete depending on the amount of layers and the complexity of the piece, so I'm always working on numerous pieces at once to allow for some to dry whilst I'm cutting or printing a new lino.
I live in Didcot with my husband and two girls and work out of my home studio which also doubles as my kids playroom, the chaos and the calm. I will be taking the plunge and transforming my kids play area into my exhibition space this year, which will hopefully complement my busy studio space for everyone to look around. I look forward to welcoming you all to my creative space.
